Terms & Conditions

 The Folly Guest House

1. Booking and Rates

  • All bookings are subject to availability and confirmation.

  • Prices are quoted per date unless otherwise stated, and may vary based on season, day of the week, or length of stay.

2. Check-In and Check-Out

  • Check-in: From 3:00pm

  • Check-out: By 11:00am

  • Early check-in or late check-out may be available by prior arrangement but is not guaranteed.

3. Cancellations and No-Shows

  • Cancellation policies may vary depending on the platform used to make your booking (e.g. direct, Airbnb, Booking.com).

  • If booked directly:

    • A non-refundable deposit is required to secure the booking. This deposit will not be refunded in the event of cancellation.

    • Cancellations made 7 days or more before arrival will not incur additional charges.

    • Cancellations made less than 7 days before arrival will be charged the full booking amount.

    • No-shows will be charged in full.

4. Occupancy

  • Only registered guests are permitted to stay overnight.

  • Maximum room occupancy must not be exceeded.

5. Smoking and Vaping

  • Smoking and vaping are not permitted anywhere inside the guest house.

  • A designated smoking area may be available outside.

6. Pets

  • Pets are not permitted, unless agreed in advance (e.g. assistance animals).

7. Damages and Losses

  • Guests are responsible for any damage to the property, contents, or furnishings during their stay.

  • The Folly Guest House reserves the right to recover the cost of repair or replacement where necessary.

8. Noise and Conduct

  • Guests are asked to be respectful of others at all times.

  • Noise should be kept to a minimum, particularly between 10:00pm and 8:00am.

9. Liability

  • The Folly Guest House accepts no responsibility for loss of, or damage to, personal property.

  • Vehicles and their contents are left at the owner’s risk.

10. Accessibility

  • The top floor is directly accessible from the car park and includes guest rooms 5, 6, and 7, a wheelchair-friendly toilet and shower, and the dining room (please note: no meals are provided).

  • The property has a staircase but no lift.

  • The lower floor, which includes the kitchen and sitting room, can be accessed either by internal stairs or externally via a small step.

11. Right to Refuse or Cancel Bookings

  • The Folly Guest House reserves the right to refuse a booking or end a stay at its discretion, particularly in cases of inappropriate behaviour or breach of these terms.

12. Data Protection

  • Guest information is held in accordance with current data protection legislation and used solely for the purpose of managing your booking and stay.

What to include in the T&C document

Generally speaking, T&C often address these types of issues: Who is allowed to use the website; the possible payment methods; a declaration that the website owner may change his or her offering in the future; the types of warranties the website owner gives his or her customers; a reference to issues of intellectual property or copyrights, where relevant; the website owner’s right to suspend or cancel a member’s account; and much, much more.
